Why art?

Being creative and attentive in observing, thinking and making awakens a curiosity that nourishes and fills my everyday life.
To work around a chosen or given subject is a wonderful way to learn, speak about it, compare, be inspired.
For me, creating is seeing and honoring the creation.
This intimate process is like travelling from inside to outside, back and forth. Working together with others is important for my own work. This ‘sharing’  makes me grateful, be it in making, coaching or showing.

What art?

The concept of art that I adhere to is best expressed with the words of Friedrich Schiller: “ Der Mensch spielt nur, wo er in voller Bedeutung des Wortes Mensch ist, und er ist nur da ganz Mensch, wo er spielt. ”
I work mostly without a detailed concept and like to explore the material in different ways. It is the dialogue with the material that leads me.
There are recurrent and new subjects. Grids, simple forms, pentagon-shapes, still-life, insects, plants, trees, words.
